Jason Momoa didn’t hold anything back for his role in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. He disclosed on The Ellen DeGeneres Show how severely he’d been beaten at work. He laughed, after admitting to having several severe wounds, such as a hernia, a scratched cornea, and even some dislocated ribs. Momoa’s excitement hasn’t diminished in spite of the combat wounds.
The 42-year-old alluded during the interview:
I messed up my eyes. I just got something in it that kinda cut it up, and then I’ve gotta get surgery, I have a hernia, I’ve got ribs out. I’m just getting beat up, It’s gonna be a great movie, you’re gonna love it.
Momoa’s obviously been pushed to his limits while filming the Aquaman sequel. However, he has experience with on-set injuries from the past. Ellen, the astute host, brought up his history of injuries sustained during filming, including a broken femur and a facial injury that left him with a recognizable scar.
The actor’s reaction? “I just kind of give it, yeah. I love my job and I get a little too excited, then the age thing, you know, I’m an aging superhero right now.” He said with a smile and a careless shrug. “I enjoy my work, but sometimes I become overly enthused.”
Since arriving in London this summer, Momoa’s become deeply involved in the production process. He gave fans a hair tease in July when he revealed that he will be changing his hair to blonde for the part. They are said to be more enjoyable.
